Well I won't be online much for quite some time turns out my graphics card is stuffed, which is bad
but its still under warranty, which is good
but I have assignments due, which is bad
and the comps here at uni have a nasty habit of corrupting word and excel files, which is worse
plus they charge you for printing 11c a page, which is much worse.

Don't travel the beaten the path, instead make a new trail and leave a path behind you.

Captain Biptoe: What do you make of it Doctor?

Doctor Ziplock: Well its long flat and has yellow lines on it that can only mean one thing.

Lieutenant Giggiwig: A minefield!

Doctor Ziplock: I was going to say a country road.

Corporal Pez: Prepare to die earth scum, prepare to die earth scum, I'm going to make sure they carve that on your tombstone.

Lieutenant Giggiwig: Let me sum up the whole situation for you in a nutshell there are five of us and four billion of them, they have strategic air command, nuclear powered submarines and John Wayne. We have this(picks up a gun)

Captain Biptoe: Is it loaded??

Lieutenant Giggiwig: (points gun at Biptoe) Lets find out!

Ahh safely back home thanks to Greyice for the place to sleep and Selsby it was good to catch up with you if only for a few hours.

And now on to something more serious I had several chats with Greyice mainly relating to what kind of chemicals go into the food we eat, the water we drink as well as the substances we put on our bodies and in our hair. Seeing as how I'm majoring in chemistry at uni I'm a little more cautious than most people about what I buy for myself as I always check the label for the list of ingredients.
So in order to allow my friends to make informed choices about what they eat/drink etc I present the following links

Guide to Food Additives Its scary to see just what some of those numbers actually mean

Anyone use soap or body wash or shampoo or conditioner they usually contain this chemical

Glass of water anyone, this is only a simple breakdown most of the really important information has been omitted from it, I'll look around some more for something a little less insulting to our intelligences

Look through these and learn something about what you are putting in or on your body, who knows reading all this may change nothing about what you do, but at least you can make an informed choice instead of just buying something and not having a clue. Plus it might stop me preaching to all of you about why such and such a product is really bad for you.

Ahhh some more RPG goodness on the PC I'm sure most of us old timers will remember the campaign The Temple of Elemental Evil well they've turned it into a full game not just a Neverwinter Nights module, true TOEE isn't by Black Isle but the people who made the rather fun Arcanum are responsible for this one so it should be pretty good, but if it isn't hey you know what they say don't believe the hype if anyone has played it let me know the verdict ok.
It also claims to include the D&D 3.5 rules so for those not familiar with the changes that have occured over the last few years with D&D enjoy your steep learning curve
Kudos to Greyice for the link to the CSIRO eating plan, after hitting the big 30 its time to start taking a little more care of myself.

Anyone looked into the USA patriot act? Does it bother anyone else that our Prime Minister is trying to push similar measures in this country. I feel sorry for the American people simply due to the fact that they started with a great idea, a liberal democracy and its been worn away from under them by their elected officals, I use the term elected loosely seeing as how they have such a low voter turn out. Gee wonder why we still have compulsory voting in this country.

MILITARY PEOPLE SAY

"You, you, and you: Panic. The rest of you, come with me."

A Purple Heart just proves that you were smart enough to think of a plan, stupid enough to try it, and lucky enough to survive.

A slipping gear could let your M203 grenade launcher fire when you least expect it. That would make you quite unpopular in what's left of your unit. - the Army's magazine of preventive maintenance.

Any ship can be a minesweeper... once.

Bravery is being the only one who knows you're afraid.

Cluster bombing from B-52s is very, very accurate -- the bombs always hit the ground.

Combat will occur on the ground between two adjoining maps.

Don't draw fire, it irritates the people around you.

Don't ever be the first, don't ever be the last and don't ever volunteer to do anything.

Don't look conspicuous: it draws fire.

Five second fuses only last three seconds.

Friendly fire - isn't.

If God had meant for us to be in the military, we would have been born with green, baggy skin.

If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid.

If the enemy is in range, so are you.

If you can't remember, the Claymore is pointed towards you.

If your attack is going well, you have walked into an ambush.

Incoming fire has the right of way.

It is generally inadvisable to eject directly over the area you just bombed.

Make it too tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out.

Mines are equal opportunity weapons.

Never share a fox hole with anyone braver than you.

Never tell the Platoon Sergeant you have nothing to do.

Never trust a private with a loaded weapon, or an officer with a map.

No combat ready unit has ever passed inspection.

Odd objects attract fire - never lurk behind one.

Push to test... Release to detonate.

Sometimes I think war is God's way of teaching us geography. - Paul Rodriguez

Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.

The difficult we do immediately. The impossible takes a little while longer - U.S. Navy Seabees

The easy way is always mined.

The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.

The side with the simplest uniforms wins.

There is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole.

Those who beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those who don't.

Tracers work both ways.

Try to look unimportant, they may be low on ammo.

We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction.

When in doubt empty the magazine.

When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend.

When you're short of everything but the enemy, you're in combat.

Who cares if a laser guided 500 lb bomb is accurate to within 9 feet?

Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons!

I think its important for a person to wear a few hats why get defined by simply one thing, after all haven't human beings risen to the top of the food chain by being better generalists than any other species on the planet. Here is a step by step guide that will let all of us add another label to ourselves

How to be an Internet Thug
Look, links....
Sent out this one via email but what the hey might as well post it on here for all those who don't check email all that often Gator this means you.

Greyice let me know about this movie a while ago Underworld fairly standard vampire vs werewolves plotline, but the cool thing about this movie is that White Wolf and Nancy A Collins who wrote the Sonja Blue vampire novels as well as several short stories for White Wolf are suing the makers of the movie for copyright infringement. Apparently the numbers of points they are suing over is 17 but this is only the offical tally and it may go as high as 60, if so then watching this movie might prove to be more fun than when we all went to see The Crow to try and spot all the Mage symbols they had painted on the backgrounds. Tentative release date for this movie in Australia is Oct 15th.
